For me, the tipping point was the sereis of giant contracts he handed out to Ryan, Burnett and Wells. He lost his old excuse of being strapped for cash, and he proved he wasn't capable of making smart decisions for the future. It's unfortunate, but he has to go.

Agreed. Anyone else think that the Jays' last two seasons have sort of been the result of Riccardi getting drunk with a bunch of buddies and going "hey guys, wanna see my Brian Cashman impression?"

Rewarding mediocre players who had one good season with huge contracts... dropping major coin on injury-plagued pitchers... it all makes sense!!!!
